A Psychological Translation Of what L.T and The Chargers Meant To Say In San Diego
A psychological translation of the Chargers' comments about the Patriots' show boating and post game on field celebation--WHAT THEY MEANT TO SAY--We lost and we cannot tolerate being in a diminished emotional (secondary) position. Right after the game we were crushed and in shock, so instead of focusing on what we did to lose, and the enormity of the loss, we focused on the Patriots' behaviors. We carried on during the week after the game because we could not face the fact that the season was over and we were going to be depressed and lost with it all ending suddenly, so we kept the season going and let our emotional lives be controlled by the Patriots who have moved on to play the Colts. In short, focusing on the Patriots seemed better than facing the emotional consequences.
